The Home and Youth Affairs Bureau announced on Tuesday the selection result of the second-term District Services & Community Care Team, mostly retaining first-term operators but introducing changes in at least six teams.
A total of 455 teams were selected across 18 districts, primarily from the same operating organizations as in the first term, with services set to continue until September 30, 2027.
However, at least six teams have changed their organizing bodies, with the Sai Kung District seeing the most changes, as three teams—Pak Sha Wan, Tsui Lam and Fu Lam Caring Teams—have switched organizations.
One team each from Sha Tin, Tai Po and Tuen Mun has also changed the operating organizations.
Meanwhile, one new team has been added in Sai Kung, and three have been added in the North District.
The government stated that some individual teams are unable to continue their service due to various reasons, prompting the relevant District Office to invite previously shortlisted organizations to submit proposed service plans.
Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs Alice Mak Mei-kuen said that the service provided by the first-term Care Teams received wide acclaim from the public.
She hopes that the second-term Care Teams will strengthen local networks to offer more comprehensive and improved care services, enhancing people’s sense of satisfaction and well-being.
