Elderly woman, 86, drowns at Repulse Bay beach

An 86-year-old woman died in hospital on Tuesday after being pulled unconscious from the water at Repulse Bay beach, police said.

The woman, surnamed Kim, was swimming around noon when lifeguards spotted her floating in the water. She was rescued but already unconscious.

She was taken to Ruttonjee Hospital but died seven hours later. Police are investigating the incident.
