A 60-year-old man has been arrested for alleged child abuse after a dispute with his 15-year-old son at their Kowloon City home on Monday night.
Police received a report from the father at around 9pm stating he had argued with his son over a family issue at their residence on Boundary Street. During the altercation, the father allegedly attacked the teenager with a desk chair.
Officers and paramedics arrived at the scene. Following a preliminary investigation, the man was arrested on suspicion of "ill-treatment or neglect of a child or juvenile in his care."
The boy sustained a hand injury and was taken conscious to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.
The case has been taken over by the Kowloon City district criminal investigation team for further investigation.
