A middle-aged motorcyclist died after losing control of his motorcycle on the Island Eastern Corridor in Chai Wan on Monday.

The rider was traveling towards Chai Wan when the bike struck the barrier near the IVE Chai Wan campus, just before the exit to Shing Tai Road.
He was thrown from the vehicle and landed heavily in roadside bushes, suffering severe injuries and heavy bleeding.
Ambulance crews arrived quickly but found him unconscious. He was rushed to Eastern Hospital where he was pronounced dead despite resuscitation efforts.
Police investigators examined the scene, where blood stained the grass and dripped onto the retaining wall below.
The damaged motorcycle came to rest about 200 meters from the impact point along the barrier.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
