The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority is inviting Hong Kong residents and tourists to its inaugural New Year Countdown Concert to celebrate the momentous arrival of 2026 with live performances against Victoria Harbour's backdrop.
The event will take place on the stage in WestK Christmas Lane. Local musicians, including On Chan, Kandy, and the bands The Hertz and Nowhere Boys, will perform live against the dazzling backdrop of Victoria Harbour starting at 10.30pm.
The 10-minute countdown session will begin at 11.50pm and will be followed by more live music and DJ sets, concluding at 12.30am.
The M+ Facade and the exterior of the neighboring International Commerce Centre—Hong Kong's tallest building—will feature a spectacular light display illuminating the skyline.
On New Year’s Eve, the WestK Christmas Forest and WestK Christmas Lane will also extend their opening hours until 1 am the following day.
In anticipation of large crowds gathering in WestK for the celebration, special crowd management measures will be implemented in the Art Park when necessary.
The Authority strongly advises visitors to use public transport, including the WestK Ferry service, and to avoid driving to the district.
Operating hours of the WestK Ferry connecting WestK Quay and Central Pier No. 9 will also be extended, with the last ferry departing from WestK and Central at 11.30pm.
Additional special services departing from WestK Quay will run from 12.30am onward to facilitate the dispersal of visitors after the countdown event. The last ferry will depart at 1am.
