Police, ImmD arrest 17 over illegal work, fake IDs

Police and Immigration Department officers arrested 17 mainlanders on Monday in an operation targeting illegal workers and immigration offenders in Kowloon City and Hung Hom.

The Kowloon City district special duties squad and task force conducted operation "Champion," detaining two men and 15 women aged 28 to 55.

The suspects were held for breaching conditions of stay and using a forged identity card. They remain in custody and will be handed to relevant departments.

Police said the district is committed to combating illegal immigration and labor, working with departments and stakeholders on intelligence and joint operations.
