A 59-year-old man died after collapsing on an MTR train at Nam Cheong Station on Thursday evening.
Police received a report at 8.45pm that a passenger had lost consciousness on a Tuen Ma Line train heading toward Tuen Mun. Emergency personnel were called to the station.
An MTR spokesperson said the incident occurred at about 8.40pm when a helpful passenger activated the emergency intercom to report the man's collapse. The train control centre immediately arranged for staff assistance and called an ambulance.
Paramedics found the man, surnamed Wong, unconscious and administered first aid before taking him to Caritas Medical Centre. Police later confirmed he had died despite resuscitation efforts. The cause is under investigation.
