Woman dies after fall at Fanling police quarters

A 40-year-old woman died early Tuesday morning (Nov 18) after falling from a residential block at the Fan Garden Police Quarters in Fanling.

The incident took place at about 6.58am at 17 Fan Leng Lau Road, where a security guard found the woman lying unconscious on a platform and alerted authorities. Paramedics later confirmed she was dead at the scene.

Initial reports identified the deceased as a housewife and the spouse of a police officer. No suicide note was found.

Police said early investigations suggest that she had been experiencing emotional distress before the fall. A postmortem examination will be conducted to confirm the cause of death.

Fan Garden, redeveloped between 2017 and 2021, consists of five residential towers standing 29 to 31 storeys tall, providing 1,184 units for junior married police officers.
