Foreign domestic helper charged with stealing $111,000 in jewelry in Tseung Kwan O

An Indonesian domestic helper has been charged with theft after allegedly stealing more than HK$110,000 worth of diamond jewelry from her employer’s home in Tseung Kwan O.

The defendant, identified as Tukiyem, is accused of taking jewelry valued at HK$111,132 from her employer, surnamed Lam, at their Corinthia by the Sea residence between September 1 and October 31.

The items reported stolen include five diamond rings worth HK$73,952, a pair of diamond earrings valued at HK$28,660, and a diamond necklace worth HK$8,520.

No plea was required on Monday, and the case was adjourned until January 12, 2025, pending further investigation.

The defendant has been remanded in custody.
