Exceptional service comes in different forms. Cheng and Wong have completely different personalities – yet they both embrace a deeply thoughtful approach to hospitality.
Wong is an energetic extrovert and describes herself as a “sun” who warms people up.
“I love seeing people smile. Smiles and warmth are contagious,”she said. Already juggling between three roles – nutritionist, tutor, and waitress – she still makes time for tennis, Muay Thai, and dance to recharge.
“Only when you have passion for life can you truly shine,” she added.
It’s no wonder why this sunny girl can effortlessly take orders, process payments, and seat guests – all at once. “I do almost everything – except answering the phone,” she joked. Wong also values the warm interactions with her teammates: “I find my colleagues very heartwarming, even when they are just checking on me.”

Cheng, by contrast, is more reserved. He was quiet at first but became animated as he shared his service philosophy. His colleagues love to call him by an affectionate nickname that reflects his generous and helpful nature. His regulars also call him by different nicknames to show their friendship and respect. Cheng’s attentiveness and observation allows him to mingle well with all kinds of guests.
Despite their very different personalities, Wong and Cheng prove that, with compassion and professionalism, everyone has a place to shine in the F&B sector.
