A taxi driver died following a three-vehicle collision on Kwun Tong Bypass on Sunday night.

The accident occurred at approximately 11pm when a taxi traveling toward Kwun Tong near Kwun Tong Ferry Pier collided with two private cars. According to information, a Maserati and a Honda had initially been involved in a minor collision in the middle lane when both drivers exited their vehicles to exchange details.
A taxi approaching the scene reportedly could not stop in time, resulting in a three-vehicle collision. Both private car drivers were struck and injured while standing on the road. The two private cars were pushed across the roadway by the impact.

The involved taxi came to rest in the fast lane with its driver unconscious and trapped inside. Emergency personnel arrived and extricated the taxi driver, who received cardiopulmonary resuscitation during transport to United Christian Hospital. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead in the early hours of Monday.
Additional casualties included a male passenger from the taxi, two male drivers from the private cars, two female passengers and a young boy, all of whom were transported to hospitals for treatment. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
