The event formed part of the "Bi-city Youth Cultural Leadership Programme," following the participants' completion of a two-week field study and four-week internship in Hong Kong designed to foster creative thinking through cultural exchange.
HKPM Director Louis Ng Chi-wa encouraged students to examine how cultural districts can catalyze urban development, using Hong Kong's West Kowloon Cultural District as a case study for cross-border cultural integration.
During an exclusive session, Palace Museum Director Wang Xudong shared insights about the institution's century-long legacy, which mirrors China's developmental journey.
"The Chinese nation has always strived for peace," Wang stated. "All foreign artifacts in the Palace Museum were obtained through cultural exchanges, trade, or gifts."
The museum safeguards 1.86 million culturally significant objects from diverse origins.
Wang also provided updates on the Palace Museum's Northern Branch, a flagship project under China's 14th Five-Year Plan. The main structure is slated for completion by December 2025, with public opening anticipated in early 2027.
