Fire Services Department hosts career seminar for ethnic minority women

In a push for greater diversity and inclusion, the Hong Kong Fire Services Department (FSD) organized a career guidance seminar last Friday specifically for ethnic minority women, aiming to inspire them—and young people from all backgrounds—to consider careers in emergency services.

The event, co-hosted with the Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service under the Ethnic Minority Community Emergency Preparedness Participation Scheme, introduced attendees to various roles within the FSD, including firsthand insights into the work of the Fire Services Communications Centre.

Participants also received training on fire safety and emergency preparedness.

The FSD emphasized its commitment to encouraging ethnic minority youth to join the department, highlighting its mission "to protect life and property from fire or other calamity."
