The 37-year-old boxing icon revealed he still has unfinished business in the ring and is ready to chase his dreams again—this time with a renewed focus on enjoying the sport rather than just chasing victories.

From 22-fight win streak to comeback
Tso, who retired from professional boxing in 2017 amidst a 22-fight win streak due to a left eye injury that affected his vision, transitioned to amateur boxing and represented Hong Kong at the Hangzhou Asian Games in 2022.
After failing to qualify for the Paris Olympics last year, he took a break before deciding to return to the pro scene.
The Hong Kong star has signed a one-year, three-fight deal with a top Philippine boxing promotion, with his first match scheduled for August 24 in Manila.
Never too old to chase dreams
Tso admitted that age has introduced new challenges such as slower recovery, more aches, and the physical toll of training, yet he remains determined.
He mentioned that he has not given up on boxing and still desires to compete, aiming to demonstrate that age should not be a limiting factor.
Tso referenced legends like Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton, who made comebacks at 46, as inspirations for continuing to pursue his dream.
His comeback fight is planned as a six-round bout, which is a cautious approach after years away from professional competition. Tso believes that his experience in amateur boxing will aid in his adaptation.
He acknowledged that his body isn’t the same as before, but he has gained more ring intelligence. He explained that he used to start slow, but now he is better at reading fights. While winning remains important, he emphasized his desire to enjoy every moment in the ring.

Young teammate joins the journey
Joining Tso in Manila will be 24-year-old former Hong Kong wushu team member Ngan Lok-man, who holds an undefeated 4-0 pro record.
