Hong Kong's iconic nightclub, Club BBoss, marked its grand reopening on Saturday as "Big Boss Generation," with authorities inspecting to check for any violations.
During the operation, authorities arrested a 46-year-old man who has been wanted for money laundering.
Dozens of officers from the Organized Crime and Triad Bureau, along with personnel from West Kowloon and Yau Tsim police districts, conducted searches throughout the premises at around 10 pm.
This came after the nightclub reopened at its original location in Tsim Sha Tsui, following its closure in 2012.
As a result of the police operation, an event scheduled for 10.30pm featuring former Japanese AV actress Sola Aoi had to be postponed.
By midnight on June 15, the nightclub resumed normal operations as police concluded the inspection after around an hour.
The venue, boasting a total construction area of 50,000 square feet, took nearly 18 months and over HK$100 million to prepare and renovate. The nightclub aims to be an all-ages entertainment venue, eliminating hostesses and welcoming families, with features such as a children's area, café, bar, and private event spaces.
The nightclub representative noted that the opening of BBG not only marks the birth of a new landmark but also represents a significant breakthrough for Hong Kong's entertainment industry, with a commitment to integrating technology and entertainment to solidify the city's status as an Asian entertainment hub.
