Hong Kong will play host this summer as the Saudi Super Cup makes its Hong Kong debut, with stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo maybe featured in the tournament.
The Saudi Arabian Football Federation confirmed today that the prestigious competition will take place in the city from August 19 to 23, featuring four of Saudi Arabia's clubs—Al-Ittihad, Al-Qadsiah, Al-Hilal, and Al Nassr.
The tournament promises to bring an unprecedented constellation of football talent to Hong Kong shores. All eyes will be on Al Nassr's Cristiano Ronaldo, though questions remain about whether the Portuguese megastar will still be with the club by August amid ongoing transfer speculation.
The participating teams boast an impressive roster of global stars, including Al-Ittihad's Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kanté, Al-Hilal's Kalidou Koulibaly, and Al Nassr's Sadio Mané.
This marks a significant milestone for both Saudi football and Hong Kong's sporting landscape. While previous editions were held in London and Abu Dhabi, 2025 will see the tournament venture into East Asia for the first time, reflecting Saudi Arabia's growing ambition to expand its football footprint globally and Hong Kong's emergence as a premier destination for international sporting events.
