Police were alerted to Yau Ma Tei after a group of men attacked and stole from two men Sunday night, arresting one man.
Shortly before 10 pm yesterday (Sept 17), two men reported that they had been attacked with fists and metal pipes by more than ten men at the junction of Jordan Road and Ferry Street.
They were robbed of HK$25,000 in cash, with the attackers fleeing in two sedans toward Yau Ma Tei and Tsim Sha Tsui.
One of the sedans is suspected to have lost control near the junction of Chatham Road South and Mody Road, crashing into a car that was slowing down, injuring its driver.
The attacker in the crashed sedan abandoned his vehicle and fled; he was later intercepted near the junction of Chatham Road South and Cameron Road.
After a preliminary investigation, the 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and furious driving.
The case has been handed over to the Yau Tsim Police District.
The two victims, who suffered injuries to their heads and backs, and the female driver, who complained of back pain, were taken to Kwong Wah Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital for medical attention, respectively.
