Police commissioner Chris Tang Ping-keung told a banquet crowd including various pro-Beijing celebrities and all-round entertainers that he learnt how to be police officer from watching Jackie Chan movies.Tang also said he was able to "talk well" in the Legislative Council because he referred to TV program hosted by multi-talented Eric Tsang Chi-wai in 1990.
His admission came in a video circulating online with scenes from a banquet for a football team under the Hong Kong All Star Sports Association. Tang said he "didn't know how to be a police before" but then learnt "how to be one after watching movies" of Jackie Chan and Alex Fong. Both of them also feature in the video.

Other people spotted in the video included personalities Alan Tam Wing-lun and Kenneth Lo Wai-Kwong, senior police superintendent Kong Wing-cheung, police chief superintendent John Tse Chun-chung, police PR face Kwok Ka-chuen and retired police superintendent Frankly Chu King-wai, who was imprisoned for hitting am Occupy protester.
