Sha Tin District Councillor Li Chi-wang was arrested by police this morning over a rally in May this year near Canal Road Flyover in Causeway Bay.
He was arrested for disorder in public places under the Public Order Ordinance. He will be brought to court on November 23.
Li was previously arrested on May 24 this year during a rally against the “Hong Kong National Security Law” in Causeway Bay, he refused bail and was later released by the police.
Li posted on his Facebook on May 24 that he and other district councilors were at the scene that day to monitor the rally and police operations.
He stressed he had worn his credentials at all times and was suddenly arrested by police officers when reasoning with them after he accused the officers of attacking them.
