Located at the repurposed Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park Sports Centre, the MMC will operate until November 23, serving as the nerve center for media covering the 15th National Games, as well as the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games.
Embracing the green initiatives of these events, the center features a Main Press Centre equipped with workstations, press conference facilities, and live competition broadcasts, alongside an International Broadcast Centre managed by China Central Television.
This broadcast hub will consolidate signals from venues across Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau. Four local broadcasters, including three free television stations and Radio Television Hong Kong, have secured rights to air the National Games locally at no cost, ensuring wide accessibility.
The MMC is set to welcome hundreds of journalists from mainland China and abroad, offering them a prime location by Victoria Harbour to weave Hong Kong’s scenic beauty into their coverage.
A unique “Hong Kong Street” dining area will serve local cuisine, adding a cultural touch, while a National Games History Gallery will showcase the event’s legacy. Visitors can also explore a retail shop offering limited-edition merchandise and souvenirs. To facilitate coverage, shuttle buses will transport accredited media between the MMC, competition venues, and designated hotels.
After the National Games, the facility will transition to support the media needs of the National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the Special Olympic Games, hosting events like boccia, wheelchair fencing, para table tennis, and table tennis.
