The 88-year-old man, surnamed Wan, was pronounced dead at the scene, while his 78-year-old wife, surnamed Tam, was rushed to Ruttonjee Hospital in a semi-conscious state, suspected to have suffered a stroke.
The discovery came after the daughter had grown concerned after failed check-ins from her parents.
It was understood that the daughter rang the doorbell and called her parents’ phone without a response when she visited their Lai Tak Estate home at around 9pm yesterday.
After retrieving a spare key from her sister, she entered the flat and made the grim discovery.
Police were called at 1.55am and officers from the North Point District Crime Squad found no signs of foul play.

Neighbors revealed that the couple had lived in the Tsuen Wing Lau flat for decades. The husband, a former taxi driver, had undergone heart stent surgery and required daily care from his wife, a homemaker.
In recent years, his health had deteriorated significantly, leaving him mostly housebound. Their daughter visited occasionally, but no one anticipated such a tragic outcome, said neighbors.
An investigation is ongoing.
