Hang Seng Index falls below 25,000 points at noon

Hong Kong shares fell at noon on Wednesday, dragged down by tech heavyweights.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index slipped 191 points, or 0.76 percent, to 24,896 points by noon. 

The half-day market turnover was HK$98.8 billion. 

The Hang Seng Tech Index went down 0.97 percent to 4,395 points at noon. 

In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index decreased 0.36 percent to 3,938 points, and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index dropped 0.58 percent to 13,644 points at the midday close.
