Hang Seng Index rises at noon on Friday

Hong Kong shares rose at midday on Friday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index climbed by 164 points, or 0.7 percent to 24,768 points by noon. The half-day market turnover was HK$107 billion. 

The Hang Seng Tech Index fell 1.7 percent to 4,385 points at noon. 

In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index increased 1 percent to 3,916 points and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index leapt by 1.5 percent to 13,613 points at the midday close.
