China says it opposes using G20 to hype up trade imbalance issues

China said on Thursday that using the G20 to hype up the "so-called" issues of economic imbalances and overcapacity is a deliberate attempt to confuse and mislead the public.

The move is "essentially promoting protectionism and finding excuses to exert pressure on and restrict China," and China firmly opposes it, Huang Ling, a spokesperson for the commerce ministry, told a regular press briefing.
