Hong Kong has seen 36 applications of company re-domiciliation approved to date, while 21 applications are being processed by the Companies Registry, according to a post by the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau on Friday.
The robust results came ahead of tomorrow’s first anniversary of the implementation of the company re-domiciliation regime in Hong Kong.
The bureau noted that approved companies primarily re-domiciled from offshore economies like the British Virgin Islands, Luxembourg, Bermuda, and the Cayman Islands.
Their businesses span sectors including financial services, real estate, and leasing activities, FSTB said, adding that the re-domiciled companies consist of Hong Kong-listed firms and two international insurance groups.
