Hong Kong stocks pared all the losses and closed higher on Friday, lifted by tech gains.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index rose 0.24 percent, or 62 points, to 25,978, with the turnover of HK$236.7 billion.
The Hang Seng Tech Index inched up 0.75 percent to 4,902.
Chipmaker SMIC (0981) surged 10 percent, marking the best performer among blue chips.
Alibaba (9988) advanced 1 percent, while Baidu (9998) rose 0.7 percent.
Auto shares went down, with Geely Automobile (0175) and Li Auto (2015) dropping 2.7 percent and 4.4 percent to their respective 10-day low.
In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index decreased 0.33 percent to 4,079 points, and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index was down by 0.69 percent to 14,940 points.
