China's Li calls for major projects, reform push in 15th Five-Year Plan

Chinese Premier Li Qiang said China will define clear strategic tasks under its upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan, calling for the rollout of major projects and initiatives that can drive overall economic development.

Speaking at a meeting of a leading group overseeing the drafting of the 2026–2030 plan, Li said the government should strengthen the plan’s guiding role by centering policy design, targets and project planning around the goal of high-quality growth.

He added that authorities need to accurately assess the economy’s current phase and leverage reform and innovation to overcome structural challenges.
