Hong Kong stocks dipped by noon on Friday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index dropped 63 points to 25,872 points as of midday, after once tipping 25,905.

The half day turnover recorded HK$81.7 billion.

The tech gauge lost 0.2 percent to 5,604 at noon.

Tech shares delivered mixed performance. Alibaba (9988) and Tencent (0700) dropped 0.32 percent and 0.82percent, respectively. Xiaomi (1810) rose 1.48 percent.

Two newly listed stocks debuted and both plunged: Guangzhou Xiao Noodles Catering Management (2408) fell 27 percent Guangdong Tianyu Semiconductor (2658) lost 25 percent.

In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite Index closed flat at 3,878 points while the Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.39 percent to 13,057.
