Toy giant Pop Mart (9992) is reportedly preparing to enter the home appliance sector, in a bid to further tap into the frenzy of its intellectual property including the smash hit Labubu.
According to mainland media reports, job posting information on several Chinese recruitment platforms show the company is hiring talent in areas such as project management and industrial design for small appliances.
The report said these postings suggest Pop Mart is developing retro-style mini-refrigerators, electric kettles and other kitchen products.
Some descriptions refer to the roles as part of “A+ level key category projects,” signalling the company's intent to make small appliances a core area of business expansion, according to the report.
