TVB appoints Eric Tsang and Siu Sai-wo as general managers

TVB has appointed veteran actor Eric Tsang Chi-wai as general manager of content operations, and outgoing Sing Tao News Corp CEO Siu Sai-wo as general manager of business operations.

Siu has resigned as the executive director and chief executive officer of Sing Tao News Corp, the Standard's mother company. His resignation will take effect on October 2.

In announcement made today (Sep 27), free TV station TVB said Tsang, promoted to his new role with immediate effect, will have overall responsibilities of TVB's key content operations. They will include the creation of various types of content including non-drama, co-produced drama, music and the acquisition and curation of programs.

Siu's appointment will be effective on October 4. In his new capacity, Siu will be responsible for overseeing marketing and sales operations across TVB’s various platforms with an objective of increasing cross-platform synergies and effectiveness, as well as directing all internal and external corporate communication activities and formulating the group’s overall brand strategy.
