Myanmar authorities had completely bombed and dismantled the notorious "KK Park” on the Thai-Myanmar border, the Myanmar military junta announced through state media on Saturday.
The military also raided another fraud base “Shwe Kokko,” seizing a large amount of communication equipment and forcibly shutting it down.
This large-scale operation coincided with the country’s junta-run elections last month.
However, it was reported that the main criminal organization had already withdrawn and moved to other locations to continue operation.
Analysts pointed out that Myanmar intended to demonstrate its determination to combat transnational crime to the international community.
Chinese public security authorities have started to crack down on telecom fraud crimes involving Chinese nationals in northern Myanmar since October 2023.
By the end of January 2024, Bai Suocheng and 10 other leaders of the fraud organization were extradited to China for judicial trial.
