China urges citizens to reconsider studying in Japan over security concerns

Following the call for citizens to avoid traveling to Japan, the Chinese government has urged its citizens to carefully reconsider any plans to study in Japan

This came after the heightened diplomatic tensions following Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's controversial remarks regarding Taiwan, prompting strong discontent from Beijing and has recently taken a series of countermeasures.

Citing the unstable security and study environment in Japan, the Ministry of Education said there is a surge in crimes targeting Chinese citizens. 

It reminds those already in Japan or planning to study there to closely monitor the situation, conduct thorough risk assessments, and carefully plan their studies in Japan.
