A woman attempting to leave the mainland through Lo Wu Control Point was caught with 200,000 yuan in cash concealed in her waist trainer and luggage, according to customs authorities.
Customs officers discovered the undeclared money during an inspection of an outbound female passenger. They found one stack of cash wrapped in transparent plastic film in her luggage and nine additional stacks hidden within her waist trainer garment.
Each stack contained 20,000 yuan, totaling 200,000 yuan - far exceeding the legal limit of 20,000 yuan per person for carrying Chinese currency across the border.
