She Zhijiang, widely known as the gambling kingpin and alleged financier behind Myanmar's fraud factory "KK Park," was extradited from Thailand to China on Wednesday night (Nov 12).
The 43-year-old businessman, who holds a Cambodian passport, had been detained in Thailand since his arrest in August 2022. A Thai court recently approved his extradition to face trial in China.
Escorted by Thai police, She was transported from Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport to Nanjing Lukou International Airport in Jiangsu on Wednesday evening.
According to local media, Chinese officers formally arrested him upon arrival on charges of operating gambling and fraud schemes.
It is reported that She is one of the primary financial backers behind Myanmar's "KK Park," who has been wanted for operating 200 illegal online gambling platforms that attracted 330,000 Chinese participants, with involved funds exceeding 2.7 billion.
Investigations revealed that "Shwe Kokko City" managed by She near the Thai border harbored 248 telecom fraud groups specifically targeting Chinese citizens, causing massive financial losses.
