An HK Express flight returned to the airport shortly after takeoff on Monday. The flight landed safely, and no injuries were reported.
Shortly before 1 pm, HK Express flight UO172 was heading from Hong Kong to Taichung, Taiwan when it is suspected to have experienced a landing gear failure that required it to return to Hong Kong International Airport.
Police officers and firefighters were on standby as the plane landed back at the airport.
The aircraft touched down safely with no reported injuries to the passengers or crew onboard.
HK Express has confirmed that flight UO172 returned to Hong Kong shortly after departing for Taichung as a precautionary measure. All passengers and crew are safe and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
