The incident occurred on the afternoon of Friday (Mar 7), at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, where the jewelry show had concluded on Saturday.
Videos of the altercation, shared extensively on mainland social media Xiaohongshu, show two men wearing suit jackets angrily shouting at an older man seated at a booth, believed to be their father.
According to the footage, the two men demanded that the father call their mother immediately, yelling, "Call Mom right now!" The situation then escalated when the older man appeared to refuse, with the sons unleashing a barrage of expletives.
"That's your behavior as a father? I'm not your son! I don't care if you turn into ashes or a ghost!" one of them shouted.
The videos depict a chaotic scene, with bystanders gathering to watch and record the confrontation.
A staff member from the booth was seen attempting to intervene, only to be met with more aggressive language from one of the sons, who yelled, "Don't touch me! This is none of your business!"
Security personnel eventually stepped in to separate the parties, but the two men continued to hurl insults at their father, including, "You're a disgrace to Mom!" They also made several attempts to charge toward their father but were blocked by security guards.
Security personnel eventually escorted the two men out of the exhibition hall, warning them they were disturbing other guests.
The confrontation reportedly lasted for about an hour, disrupting nearby exhibitors and drawing a large crowd of spectators.
One exhibitor near the scene commented online, "It was my first time witnessing such drama up close. It delayed my business for an hour, and the whole area was packed with onlookers. I guess people everywhere love watching the fun."
The exact cause of the dispute remains unclear, as some suggested it was related to a family conflict, with the sons standing up for their mother, while others speculated that money or domestic issues might have been at the root of the argument.
Neither the family involved nor the event organizer have publicly commented on the incident as of the story published.
