The "New Facilities Building of The Hong Kong Sports Institute" opened on Wednesday (Dec 4), offering enhanced training facilities and medical support for local athletes.

The building features a scientific conditioning center and a sports biomechanics and technology center, with a usable floor area of 9,000 square meters spread across three stories.
The top floor serves as a sports hostel with 50 rooms for overseas visiting athletes, while the areas for the table tennis, karate halls, and two training centers, have been expanded.
HKSI Chairman Tang King-Shing emphasized that the new building will enable athletes to focus more on systematic training and achieve better results in upcoming events such as the National Games and Asian Games.
