HK Flower Show begins Fri, featuring exhibits based on fairy tales

The Hong Kong Flower Show 2024 will begin on Friday at Victoria Park, featuring various fairy tale-based flower exhibitions along with various activities attracting locals and tourists alike.

The show this year features Angelonia as the theme flower, with "Floral Joy Around Town" as its main theme. Many organizations were seen using fairy tales as inspiration for their displays, with the exhibits measured from the entrance of Hing Fat Street to Sugar Street.

This year, a total of 229 organizations, including 81 exhibitors from 12 countries, namely mainland China, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, the United States, etc., will be taking part in the show.

There will be various landscape displays at the location starting tomorrow (Mar 15), such as a large-scale candy shop that features various flowers which was built with the help of over 1,100 schoolchildren from 38 schools, Arabian myths, Journey to the West, etc. with the event closing on March 24.

There is a sunflower bed in the central lawn , which covers an area of about 15 by 25 meters and has more than 5,000 sunflowers, along with a rose garden at the other end of the lawn, with more than 4,000 fragrant roses from 30 species on display.

There will also be a series of educational and entertainment events in the exhibition, such as a children's drawing competition, photography competitions, music performances, etc.

Commercial stalls will also feature during the period to sell snacks, beverages, flowers and horticultural products.

In order to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, there is a themed carnation flower wall located at the entrance of Hing Fat Street.

There was also a trace of Article 23 at the location, with a notice board supporting the article found amongst the flower beds.
