A months-long study by Clarins Research, which compared the faces of 100 women living in Zhanjiang, a mildly populated city in
China, with 100 others living in highly polluted Guangzhou, found that - unsurprisingly - the women in Guangzhou had visibly duller skin. Pollution was causing an overproduction of melanin and starved skin of oxygen, the researchers noted.
As a result of the study, Clarins created the Bright Plus Range using a double oxygenating complex made with two super antioxidants, acerola seed and rose myrtle. The range is so popular that two new products have joined the serum (HK$690): a moisturizing emulsion (HK$530) and treatment or milky essence (HK$400).
