National security police questioned the wife and son of absconded scholar and commentator Chung Kim-wah yesterday, sources said.
Officers brought the wife, Ng, and the son to Tin Shui Wai and Mong Kok police stations, respectively. Both left around noon.
"We will not stop pursuing those who undermine national security," he said.
Organizations, he added, need not worry if they don't intend to break the law, saying it clearly defines what constitutes an offense."Any organization that does not impede national security and adheres to its moral conduct and professional code can operate normally."
Robert Chung, president and chief executive of the Public Opinion Research Institute, was taken away from his Pok Fu Lam home on Monday. He was later taken to the institute's Wong Chuk Hang offices, and he and two staff left in a police vehicle at around 6 pm.Chung Kim-wah is accused of repeatedly advocating independence for Hong Kong on social media and calling for sanctions against Beijing and the SAR between 2020 and 2023.
