China's homegrown C919 and ARJ21 airliners departed Hong Kong yesterday after their six-day visit from last Tuesday.More than 500 representatives from nearly 60 groups, including the Executive Council, Legislative Council, local and overseas aviation industry, youth groups and district organizations, visited the planes on display at Hong Kong International Airport.
The government said they were pleased Hongkongers could experience a major milestone in Chinese aviation manufacturing firsthand.

Visitors could also watch the C919 flying over Victoria Harbor on Saturday morning.
Over 300 young people attended an informative sharing session about the two aircraft, held by representatives of the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd."These activities not only gives the public a better understanding of aviation development in the country, but also helps to enhance the sense of national identity among young people and inspires them to join the aviation industry," the government said.
