Standard Chartered's Judy Hsu buys HK$46.5m unit at Bowen Place

Judy Hsu, Standard Chartered's (2888) chief executive of wealth and retail banking, has recently bought an apartment at Bowen Place in Mid-Levels for HK$46.5 million.

The transaction involved a 1,485 square feet, three-bedroom unit, translating to HK$31,313 per sq ft.

The seller originally acquired the home in 2019 for about HK$51.5 million - a paper loss of HK$5 million after holding the property for seven years.

Hsu mentioned at the bank's half-year results conference on Wednesday that the transaction was an investment as a home, rather than a financial investment.

Having lived in Hong Kong for two years, she added that she plans to continue to settle in the city long-term and views the current property market as a good entry point to buy a home.
