194 Hongkongers in Middle East contacted ImmD, all confirmed safe

A total of 194 Hongkongers currently in the Middle East have contacted the Immigration Department for enquiries, such as about the latest flight arrangements, as of 5pm on Sunday. All reported they were staying in safe locations.

A department spokesman said the department has contacted the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chinese embassies in Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Jordan, and the Travel Industry Authority to gather information. 

The department will continue to maintain contact with those who enquired, provide appropriate advice and practical assistance on travel plans and flight information, and monitor developments.
