On February 18, around 7pm, a 60-year-old mainland woman surnamed Yang, travelling on a two-way permit, boarded a 3X bus in Macau.
While the bus waited at a red light on Avenida do Infante D. Henrique, she asked the driver for directions. The light turned green, and the driver, focused on the road, did not reply.
Angered, Yang reached forward and attempted to seize the steering wheel, causing the bus to sway dangerously. The driver immediately braked hard and sounded the horn.
A passing bus inspector noticed the commotion, boarded the vehicle, and escorted Yang off.
Police were called, and the bus resumed service to avoid delaying other passengers.
The incident lasted about ten minutes with no injuries reported.
Macau Public Security Police Force arrested Yang at the scene and took her to the station. She admitted she was heading to the Portas do Cerco and grabbed the wheel out of frustration after the driver ignored her.
She faces a charge of endangering road transport safety, and the case has been referred to the Public Prosecutions Office for investigation.
