Elderly man dies after Sai Wan school bus crash; driver arrested

An 88-year-old man died on Friday morning (Jan 30) following a school bus crash in Sai Wan on Thursday (Jan 29).

The incident occurred near 63 Pok Fu Lam Road, where the man was crossing the road. He was knocked down by a school bus, suffering head and leg injuries, and was taken to Queen Mary Hospital in a coma, where he later died.

Police said the 63-year-old driver was arrested at the scene on Thursday for allegedly dangerous driving causing serious bodily harm. He has been granted bail and is required to report to the police in early March.
