The accident occurred at about 8.35am when a Toyota AE92 private car, often referred to as a classic “hot hatch” from the 1980s and 1990s, was traveling toward Tsuen Wan along Route Twisk.
Near a gentle right-hand bend close to Tai Mo Shan Road, the vehicle reportedly lost control, struck a roadside bollard, and mounted the curb before crashing through bushes and tumbling down a slope.
The car fell into a water channel about three meters below road level and landed upside down - all four wheels facing upward.
