Held under the theme “Best Fortune. World Party,” the parade will begin at 8pm at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui. The procession will travel along Canton Road, Haiphong Road, and Nathan Road before ending outside the Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel and Towers.
Among the highlights, title sponsor Cathay Pacific will mark its 80th anniversary with a themed float. The Hong Kong Jockey Club will also present a float featuring glittering horses, symbolizing the vitality and vibrancy of the Year of the Horse.
The parade will incorporate festive elements such as Lam Tsuen Wishing Trees and locally popular intellectual properties.
Ahead of the main parade, about 15 local performance teams will stage warm-up shows from around 6pm, presenting lion and dragon dances, rope skipping, street dance, and magic performances.
Some of the floats will be put on display at Kai Tak Sports Park from the second to the tenth day of the Lunar New Year.
Hong Kong Tourism Board Chairman Peter Lam Kin-ngok noted that the parade has been held for 30 years and has developed into a world-class attraction through sustained efforts, drawing large numbers of visitors each year.
He said the board will capitalize on the vibrant Lunar New Year period and work with the industry to promote Hong Kong, attracting visitors from different markets to experience the city’s festive celebrations.
