The Hong Kong Flower Show will be held from March 20 to 29 at Victoria Park, featuring stock as the theme flower and the theme “A Fragrant Journey through Hong Kong,” the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) announced.
The annual show will open daily from 9am to 9pm and draw participation from more than 200 organizations and groups from Hong Kong, the mainland, and overseas.
Alongside floral displays, the event will offer a range of educational and entertainment activities, including student drawing and photography competitions, as well as contests for plant exhibits.
The LCSD said the student drawing competition will take place on the opening day of the show. Registration is now open and free of charge for local primary and secondary school students, as well as full-time tertiary students, with the deadline set for February 3.
The competition will be divided into five categories: a junior primary section for Primary One to Three students, a senior primary section for Primary Four to Six, a junior secondary section for Form One to Three, a senior secondary section for Form Four to Six, and a tertiary institution section.
Competition sessions for the primary school categories and the tertiary section will run from 9am to noon on the day, while secondary school categories will compete from 1.30pm to 4.30pm.
