The oath-taking ceremony for all 90 members of the eighth-term Legislative Council was held at 11am on Thursday, administered by Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu.
Prior to the start of the ceremony, the national anthem was played and sung. Members were required to recite the full text of the oath or pledge according to the pre-selected version and language.
The swearing-in procedure followed previous arrangements, with the order of oath-taking determined by seniority in the LegCo.

Starry Lee Wai-king from the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB) was the first to take the oath, followed by fellow DAB lawmaker Gary Chan Hak-kan and the Business and Professionals Alliance's Priscilla Leung Mei-fun.
Next were lawmakers who have served since 2012, and the 40 newcomers took their oaths last.
Junius Ho Kwan-yiu and Michael Lee Chun-keung were among the seven lawmakers requested by the Secretary General of the Legislative Council Secretariat to retake their oaths due to unclear points during their initial oath-taking.
After the ceremony, the lawmakers proceeded to the ground-floor lobby to take a group photo with officials.
The government stressed that an oath-taker who makes a false oath or, after taking the oath, engages in conduct that breaches the oath shall bear legal responsibility in accordance with the law.
A list of Legislative Council members whose oaths are valid will be announced following the ceremony.
