An off-duty 57-year-old auxiliary policeman has been charged with committing an indecent act in public after allegedly masturbating while driving a taxi with a female passenger in September.
The incident occurred on the Canal Road flyover in Happy Valley. The woman passenger reported the alleged act. The man was arrested, suspended from duty and charged following further investigation and legal advice.
The case will be heard at Eastern Magistrates' Courts on Tuesday.
Police earlier stressed the force does not tolerate illegal acts by any member and will deal with them seriously.
